#-i-wanna-be-a-film-critics-but-successfully-fails. [Super 8]

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio
town witness catastrophic train crash while making a super
8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident.
Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events
begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to
uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of
them could have imagined.

Finally, a really decent movie of 2011!!! After being disappointed by a series of recent movies, this one was refreshing and heart-fluttering. There was never a moment during the movie that I didn't want to be sitting there. The last time I felt that way was watching Inception last year.My expectations for the movie met but it was much better than i thought it would be. Throw in the adolescent battle over the out-of-reach girl, the sensitive kid trying to cope with his mother's death, the somewhat demented kid who goes bananas for explosions, the wise beyond her years girl who is a natural actress, and the chubby, driven boy with a camera and obsession with "production values" ... draws a lot of laughs and startling special effects; awesome scenes of destruction (the train crash).Films like this are the reason why I love movies. At time where trailers give away everything, Super 8 unwraps before us, hypnotizing us in its spell, and never letting go.
